Community Wildfire Protection Plans
The most recent guidelines for community fire planning are outlined in the Healthy Forests Restoration Act of 2003 (HFRA). Communities that have an existing Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) can receive significant benefit in the future should federal funding be appropriated through HFRA for fuels reduction and fire prevention. TSS is knowledgeable with regard to CWPP requirements and the guidelines and requirements of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, the National Fire Plan, and other state and federal programs. Our staff has extensive experience in facilitating collaborative fire planning processes at community, county and state levels.
