Project Title: Sacramento Municipal Utility District Biogas Digester Permitting

Location: Sacramento County, CA
TSS is currently directing the air quality permitting for three biogas facilities which are to use dairy cow manure and anaerobic digestion to produce methane for combustion in internal combustion engines. These engines will produce electricity for on-site use and for sale to SMUD. TSS is working with both the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District and the California Air Resources Board in addressing regulatory and statutory constraints involved in the use of internal combustion engines and the extremely low NOx thresholds that such units must meet operating on cow manure-derived methane gas.
