TSS Consultants carried out a technical assessment on the potential application of various thermo-chemical processes for the conversion of waste biomass at the East Bay Municipal Utility District wastewater treatment plant in Oakland, California. This project included the review of various thermo-chemical conversion technologies; preliminary assessment of processing and manufacturing systems; equipment and material balances for a full-scale commercial plant; the calculation of energy balances and energy efficiencies for a proposed commercial plant; and a preliminary environmental assessment to identify potential environmental impacts.
