TSS has been contracted by SMUD to act as their biomass consultant for a wide array of biomass utilization and development projects. To date these have included:
- Working with dairy farmers to develop projects using dairy cow waste (manure) in anerobic digesters to produce methane gas for generating electricity.
- Evaluating numerous California and West Coast biomass power plants for potential acquisition of “green” biomass electrical power.
- Evaluating the possibility of siting a biomass power plant in the SMUD service area (Sacramento County).
- Facilitating discussions between federal land management agency staff and potential biomass power plant developers.
