Tad Mason has over 27 years of experience in natural resources management.  For the last 20 years he has been active in wildland and forest fuels reduction, biomass fuels procurement, as well as renewable energy projects (feasibility studies, risk assessment, development and implementation).  As a Registered Professional Forester (RPF), he has prepared timber harvest plans, timber management plans, forest treatment/prescriptions and fire restoration plans.

Frederick Tornatore is Executive Vice President and Director of  Environmental and Technology Services with TSS Consultants.  He has over 30 years experience in environmental management and regulatory compliance, energy development, permitting and environmental impact analyses, and technology evaluation.  As a consultant, he has worked for a large array of clients in a variety of energy, industrial, commercial, and institutional areas.  Clients have included firms in the fields of energy development, manufacturing, aerospace, utilities, refining, exploration and production, mining and cement, recycling and scrap metal, real estate development, law, as well as federal (DOD and DOE), state, and local governmental entities.

Calvin Mukumoto is an experienced manager working at the senior executive level providing strategic business planning, business viability assessments, capital budget analysis, marketing, interim management, contract negotiation, project management, information systems development and turnaround management services. Mr. Mukumoto has 30 years of experience serving a variety of clients including public agencies, private sector enterprises and tribal enterprises.

Christopher Clavin’s background in Civil & Environmental Engineering, Project Management, and Systems Assessment highlights the viewpoint that he brings to the TSS Team. Mr. Clavin’s experience conducting environmental life cycle assessments and life cycle costing assessments defines his approach to tackle the environmental, economic, and social challenges associated with renewable energy and natural resource management.

Mr. Delimont has managed businesses and industrial tree farms in the Pacific Northwest and Southeast United States. His experience ranges from senior management and operations to research and development. Most recently he worked in remote sensing, analysis, and sales; supplying tactical and strategic information to forest product manufacturers and suppliers. This work included traditional forest products raw material supply and Bio-energy supply. For three years he was a Contract Asset Manager for the world’s largest TIMO. His work also includes initial planning and investigation for acquisition of tree farms in South America, consulting, surveying and nursery operations in the Pacific Northwest.

Dr. von Wedel pioneered the introduction of biodiesel to California (August, 1993) conducting grant-supported research, including the first marine toxicology studies of biodiesel, that led to the first commercial distribution of marine biodiesel on the San Francisco Bay in 1994.   Dr. von Wedel is a biochemist originally trained in basic medical research.   Dr. von Wedel is a graduate of Dartmouth College (BA 1974 in biology and chemistry) and received his Doctorate in Biochemistry (Ph.D. 1981) from the University of California Medical Center in San Francisco.  After 5 years of research in neuroscience and cell culture, he founded CytoCulture in 1986 as an environmental biotech research and consulting firm to develop and commercialize environmental technologies to reduce water and air pollution.

In his 15 years in the profession, Scott Cashen has consulted on projects pertaining to wildlife and fisheries ecology, avian biology, wetland restoration, and forest management. Because of his varied experience, Mr. Cashen is knowledgeable of the link between the various disciplines of natural resource management, and he is a versatile member of the TSS Consultants’ staff.

David Augustine has over thirty years experience in environmental analysis, management, and compliance and the economic and financial analysis of electric generating facilities.  He has worked for an electric utility, a natural gas utility and a number of management and environmental consulting firms.  Clients worked for have included power plant developers, a residential developer, alternative electric generation developers, an engine inventor, and federal, state and local government agencies including the DOE, DOT and the California Public Utilities Commission.
